For a technical professional, especially a software developer , the Grand Strand area can be a lonely place. Let’s face it, it’s not exactly a hot spot of technical innovation. Most of us work from home or we’re the only “computer guy” at our job. It becomes tiring to try and explain what you’re working on or want to do. You get inspired ideas that you can’t really share with anyone… much less get feedback or help. Sound familiar?

Well guess what? We’re here! We’re writing applications for the web, desktop, and mobile. We’re creating businesses. We’re keeping up with the latest in technology and gadgets.  We know about comic books and movies.

The Geek Out started as a simple happy hour get together between a couple of local software developers. But the desire of others to get together and “geek freely” was just too strong to ignore. You don’t have to be a programmer… everyone is welcome.
